Smith & Wesson 79G .177 Target Pistol Rare Adjustable Trigger, Resealed & Ready!

Here on offer is a high quality Smith & Wesson 79G CO2 powered single action all metal air pistol in .177 caliber, serial number Q037860, an extremely rare early adjustable trigger example.  It is the scarcest of all of the versions of these great guns.  The .22 version was sold in much greater numbers as it was the caliber of choice in the 1970s.
The 79G was introduced much later than the .22 caliber 78G with the result that there are many more of the .22 caliber guns with adjustable triggers since the adjustable trigger was cancelled not long after the 79G was introduced.  I see about 12 of the 78G adjustables to every 1 of the 79G adjustables that become available.  As a matter of fact I have had otherwise knowledgeable S&W fanatics claim there were no adjustable 79Gs ever made, only due to thenmhaving never seen one in person.  I have had a couple of these in their original box with original owner's manuals that clearly show that the adjustable version existed.  The latest serial number I have seen on an adjustable trigger gun is a bit over 41000.  With somewhere over 320000 total serial numbers during production, it follows that the non-adjustable version had 8 times the production of the non-adjustable versions in both calibers.
It holds gas for extended periods without leaking down, over a month and counting, after
I replaced all of the "O" rings with high quality polyurethane ones and installed my new HOT valve stem poppet that yields an incremental increase in power in place of the clunky original one.  The gun should be good for years of trouble free shooting.  I fired a 5 shot string through the gun across my chronometer with these results:
average 475fps, high was 478fps, low was 473fps, a good result for a .177 pistol using 7.4 grain pellets.
