This is a rare Thursday evening, July 15th, 1897 (Opening Night) programme (playbill) from the West End revival of William Shakespeare's "THE MERCHANT OF VENICE" at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in London. (The revival openedJuly 15th, 1897
and played a limited engagement of only three performances.) ..... The play starred HENRY IRVING as "Shylock" and
Miss ELLEN TERRY as "Portia"
and featured Mr. F. COOPER, Mr. LACY, Mr. MACKLIN, Mr. TYARS, Mr. FULLER MELLISH, Mr. HARVEY, Mr. BEN WEBSTER, Mr. GORDON CRAIG, Mr. ARCHER, Mr. S. JOHNSON, Mr. REYNOLDS, Mr. GRAHAM, Mr. MARION, Mr. RIVINGTON, Mr. BELMORE, Mr. TABB, Miss MAUD MILTON and Miss EDITH CRAIG .....
