    Description

Please read the entire product description and examine product image(s) carefully before bidding.
This assembly consists of all 1960s new old stock parts:
Strombecker open-frame motor with axle bracket - It says "Strombecker Japan" on it, so it's either a Scuttler or an Avenger but I don't know which.
Auto Hobbies brass front chassis section with adjustable wheelbase, long enough for 1/24 scale cars but can be shortened for a 1/32 scale car build.
Rear axle assembly consisting of a 1/8" diameter drill blank axle, Cox crown gear, bronze bushings, and spacers to shim the crown gear into proper alignment with the pinion gear.
An 80s to present day guide is also included - not everyone has access to a 60s guide or wants to use one.
I bench-tested the motor briefly and it runs.  The gears will need some breaking in and the motor shaft and rear axle bushing will need lubrication.  Also, during bench testing one of the lead wires came loose and had to be soldered back on (a common problem with the poor-quality lead wire they had back in those days.  The buyer will do well to replace the original lead wires with modern silicone-insulated wire for improved performance and reliability.)
This assembly can be the basic structure for anything from a 1/32 scale formula, sports, or GT car to a 1/32 scale stock car or a 1/24 scale formula car.
